Characteristics of hepatitis E viral infections in Hungary
2022, Journal of Clinical VirologyCitation Excerpt :We consider that the difference in IgG seropositivity can partly be explained by the increased number of serological testing using the most specific and sensitive commercially available ELISA kit (WANTAI Bio-Pharm, China) [12]. Several studies proved that the incidence of hepatitis E infection increased in many European countries during the last 10 years [6–8]. A comparison of the available findings showed that seroprevalence data in the East-Central European countries are quite similar.
Immunogenicity and safety of an accelerated hepatitis E vaccination schedule in healthy adults: a randomized, controlled, open-label, phase IV trial
2019, Clinical Microbiology and InfectionCitation Excerpt :In some developing countries with poor sanitation, HEV remains endemic and causes occasional outbreaks [3]. With the availability of HEV diagnostic reagents in recent years, researchers have found that HEV infection is more common in industrialized and non-endemic areas than previously thought [4–7]. Numerous findings in both China and other countries have also shown that HEV infection has surpassed hepatitis A virus infection [8–10].
Acute hepatitis E in French patients and neurological manifestations
2018, Journal of InfectionCitation Excerpt :While hepatitis E virus (HEV) has been a major cause of hepatitis outbreaks due to drinking contaminated water for decades in developing countries,1 it is now recognized as a major etiologic agent of acute hepatitis in industrialized countries.1,2
