Gesundheitsverhalten von Auszubildenden in Krankenpflegeberufen

Eine Literaturübersicht

Zusammenfassung

Einleitung/Zielstellung

Pflegefachkräfte gewinnen zunehmend an Bedeutung bei der Beratung von Patienten sowie in der Bevölkerung zu gesundheitsfördernden Verhaltensweisen. Somit hat schon die Ausbildung für das eigene Gesundheitsverhalten einen großen Einfluss, damit die künftigen Fachkräfte wirksame und authentische Gesundheitsförderer sein können, denn andernfalls bleibt unklar, wie sie selbst im Hinblick auf eine gesundheitsfördernde Lebensweise Patienten überzeugend beraten und anleiten sollen. Daher sollte die derzeitige Studienlage zum Gesundheitsverhalten bei Auszubildenden in Krankenpflegeberufen analysiert werden.

Methodik

Dazu wurde eine Literaturübersicht über in Medline, Embase, PubMed und Medpilot veröffentlichte Studien zu Auszubildenden in Krankenpflegeberufen erstellt, die die Jahre von 2002 bis 2010 erfasst. Berücksichtigt wurden Studien zum Gesundheitsverhalten und zum Gesundheitszustand, zum Gesundheitsbewusstsein, zur Gesundheitsqualität und zum Lebensstil, zum Nikotin-, Alkohol- und Rauschmittelkonsum, zu Stress und Burnout, zur Berufszufriedenheit sowie zum Impfstatus, die dem gesundheitsschädigenden und gesundheitsfördernden Verhalten zugeordnet wurden.

Ergebnisse

Dabei zeigte sich, dass der bisherige Studienschwerpunkt bei der Untersuchung gesundheitsschädigender Verhaltensweisen lag, und dass Gesundheitsförderung eher als Vermeidung dieser Risiken definiert wurde.

Schlussfolgerungen

Die meisten Studien zeigen, dass in unterschiedlichen Ländern ein Teil der Auszubildenden noch deutliche gesundheitsschädigende Verhaltensweisen aufweist, so dass weitere Aktivitäten zur Optimierung der Ausbildung notwendig sind.

Summary

Background/Aims

Nurses play an important role in educating patients and the general population about health related behaviour. That is why adequate training in health promotion and healthy behaviour already among nursing students is required. Otherwise it remains unclear, how these future health professionals will be skilled to educate patients correctly. Therefore the study tried to review current studies related to health behaviour among nursing students.

Methods

The study reviews relevant articles among students in health care professions published in Medline, Embase, PubMed and Medpilot from 2002 to 2010. Papers going on health behaviour, health status, health attitude, health-risk behaviour, health-promoting lifestyle, smoking, alcohol, drugs, burnout, quality of life, nursing school and nursing health study.

Results

Most of the studies focused on risky behaviour. Health promotion was often seen only in avoiding risky behaviour.

Discussion/Conclusions

It became obvious, that in different countries a proportion of the student nurses still present risky health behaviour. This requires to continue activities to improve education in health promotion and healthy behaviour among students nurses.
