Zur Enzymhistochemie von Dermatophyten

Summary

The authors report on enzyme histochemistry of dermatophytes in two communications in the first of which the activity of eleven enzymes in the most common dermatophytes was histochemically assayed. Eight of these enzymes were found in all dermatophytes tested. Certain differences in enzymatic activity could be detected between the genera microsporum and epidermophyton on one hand and the genus trichophyton on the other hand, but not between the individual species of dermatophytes. The findings are discussed as to possible sources of errors. The necessity of a critical evaluation with regard to the particular technique used is also emphasized. Finally it is pointed out that this method is well suited for the investigation of the action of mycotropic drugs.

Zusammenfassung

An den Erregern der häufigsten Dermatophytien wird mittels fermenthistochemischer Methoden das Verhalten von elf Enzymen geprüft. Davon sind acht bei sämtlichen untersuchten Dermatophyten nachweisbar, wobei sich jedoch deutliche Unterschiede in Lokalisation, Verteilung und Intensität des Reaktionsausfalles feststellen lassen, die es ermöglichen, zwischen den Genera Microsporum und Epidermophyton einerseits und Trichophyton anderseits zu unterscheiden. Die Befunde werden hinsichtlich Fehlerquellen und Aussagewert diskutiert und mit dem Ziel für weitere Untersuchungen als Vergleichsbasis zu dienen, tabellarisch zusammengefaßt.
