Kindermedizinische Erstversorgung in Europa

Stärken und Schwächen verschiedener Modelle

Zusammenfassung

Es stellt sich die Frage, ob zukünftige Gesundheitsreformen die Herausforderungen demografischer und epidemiologischer Veränderungen in der Kinderheilkunde bewältigen können, ohne dabei die Qualität der Versorgung zu verschlechtern. Aus Sicht der Kinderärzte sind erhebliche Anstrengungen zu treffen, um die Morbidität und Mortalität von Kindern in Europa weiter zu senken. Die Erstversorgungssysteme für Kinder in den 53 europäischen Ländern unterscheiden sich deutlich. Die effektive Primärversorgung ist eine Säule der Kindergesundheit. Hinsichtlich der Effektivität unterschiedlicher Versorgungssysteme besteht jedoch kein Konsens. Ein Mehr an Versorgungsforschung vor und nach Etablierung neuer Abläufe ist für die Qualitätsbeurteilung verschiedener pädiatrischer Versorgungssysteme unerlässlich. Die Entwicklungen der neuen Morbiditäten werden den Kinderarzt nicht überflüssig machen. Stattdessen definieren sie seinen Arbeitsbereich und -kreis neu und erhalten seine Position im Zentrum der medizinischen Versorgung von Kindern.
