Indikationen und Kontraindikationen der modernen Kompressionstherapie

Zusammenfassung

Die Kompressionstherapie ist eine nebenwirkungsarmarme physikalische Therapie, die insbesondere bei Patienten mit Ödemen der unteren Extremitäten angewendet wird. Die Indikationen für diese Kompressionstherapie sind Ödeme sehr unterschiedlicher Genese wie beispielsweise venöse oder lymphatische Krankheitsbilder ebenso wie Niereninsuffizienz, Adipositas oder Inflammation. Allerdings müssen bei diesen Patienten verschiedene Kontraindikationen beachtet werden. Von besonderer Bedeutung sind hier die fortgeschrittene periphere arterielle Verschlusskrankheit und eine Polyneuropathie, die einer besonderen Beachtung bedürfen.

Aufgrund der Vielzahl der heute zur Verfügung stehenden Kompressionsmaterialien und -systeme, kann trotz dieser Kontraindikationen bei einem Großteil der Patienten mit Ödemen der unteren Extremitäten eine Kompressionstherapie durchgeführt werden. Diese kann sich heute als patientengerechte Versorgung an den Komorbiditäten und individuellen Bedürfnisse sowie Fähigkeiten der Patienten orientieren.
