Abstract

Médecins du Monde (MdM) was founded in 1980 by French physicians and provides emergency and long-term medical care to the world’s most vulnerable people. MdM works in both developed and developing countries, and runs emergency and long-term developmental projects. MdM programs focus on four preferred areas: conflict and crisis, harm reduction, maternal and child health, and migrant populations. The article gives information about the problems of the people cared for in their projects on the basis of MdM’s annual statistics.
