Zusammenfassung

Hintergrund

Die vaginale Lasertherapie gewinnt in der Praxis zunehmend an Bedeutung, obwohl die meisten urogynäkologischen Gesellschaften noch keine Empfehlung aussprechen.

Material und Methoden

Anhand der aktuellen Studienlage soll gezeigt werden, ob die Lasertherapie bereits effektiv und sicher genug für einen Einsatz in der Praxis ist.

Ergebnisse

Sowohl hinsichtlich der Effektivität als auch der Sicherheit gibt es eine Evidenz in einigen wenigen randomisierten, kontrollierten und zahlreichen prospektiven Studien.

Schlussfolgerung

Aufgrund der derzeitigen Studienlage erscheint der Einsatz bei ausgewählten Patientinnen nach entsprechender Aufklärung bereits gerechtfertigt. Erste Fachgesellschaften (Italien, Schweiz) haben in ihren Empfehlungen darauf entsprechend reagiert.
