As editor in chief of the Wiener Medizinische Wochenschrift and as a pediatrician I am proud to present a special issue of our journal dedicated to the field of pediatrics. This issue has been compiled from original papers submitted to the journal underlining the fact that the Wiener Medizinische Wochenschrift covers pediatrics and serves as disseminator of pediatric knowledge.
