Noch vor gut einem Jahrzehnt wurde Schilddrüsenerkrankungen bei Patientinnen mit Kinderwunsch bzw. bei Schwangeren oft nur wenig Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt. Dies änderte sich ab 2007, als die Clinical Guidelines der Endocrine Society zum Thema „Management of thyroid dysfunction during pregnancy and post partum“ erschienen [1], die auch in Österreich in der Folge ausführlich diskutiert wurden [2], und Schilddrüsenerkrankungen bei jungen Frauen zunehmend ins Bewusstsein rückten. Zahlreiche weitere Guidelines und Empfehlungen folgten: 2011 die „Guidelines of the American Thyroid Association for the diagnosis and management of thyroid disease during pregnancy and post partum“ [3], ein Jahr später erschien die zweite überarbeitete Version der Endocrine Society Guidelines [4]. …
