Zusammenfassung

Blutzuckerselbstkontrolle trägt zum integrierten Management des Diabetes mellitus bei. Sie sollte für alle Patienten mit Diabetes mellitus zur Verfügung stehen. Die Blutzuckerselbstkontrolle erhöht die Patientensicherheit, die Lebensqualität und verbessert die Blutzuckerkontrolle. Der vorliegende Artikel stellt die Behandlungsvorschläge der Österreichischen Diabetes Gesellschaft zum Einsatz der Blutzuckerselbstkontrolle dar.
