A 23-year-old male presented with fever, purulent nasal discharge and right-sided facial pain of 3 days duration. Examination of the nasal cavity revealed purulent discharge in the right middle meatus (Fig. 1). Occipito-Mental view of x‑ray of the nose and paranasal sinus showing secretions collected in the right maxillary sinus (Fig. 2). The patient was started on oral amoxicillin/clavullanic acid 625 mg twice a day, topical nasal decongestants and analgesics. The patient symptoms resolved in 5 days.
