Refraktionsausgleich im Kindesalter – Empfehlungen des Consilium Strabologicum Austriacum (CSA) in Zusammenarbeit mit Orthoptik Austria

Zusammenfassung

Zum Thema Brillenverordnung im Kindesalter gibt es viele unterschiedliche Expertenmeinungen und Leitlinien, sodass die Indikationsstellung oft schwierig ist. Darüber hinaus haben Refraktionsfehler nicht bei jedem Individuum gleichermaßen Konsequenzen weshalb immer eine individuelle Entscheidung unter Berücksichtigung weiterer Faktoren notwendig ist und lediglich Leitlinien als Orientierungshilfe dargelegt werden können. Im Jahr 2010 wurde durch das Consilium Strabologicum Austriacum in Zusammenarbeit mit Orthoptik Austria eine Empfehlung zur Verschreibung von Kinderbrillen bei ophthalmologisch gesunden Kindern in Österreich festgelegt. Ziel ist die bestmögliche Prävention bzw. rechtzeitige Therapie von Amblyopie und Strabismus.
