Bedeutung der Prädialysevorbereitung und Patienteninformation für die Wahl des Dialyseverfahrens

Zusammenfassung

Jeder Patient hat das Recht auf eine objektive Information über sämtliche Therapiemöglichkeiten seiner Erkrankung. Für Patienten mit terminaler Niereninsuffizienz stellen Hämodialyse und Peritonealdialyse gleichwertige Therapieverfahren dar. Patienten, die nach Ausschluss von Kontraindikationen für beide Verfahren in Betracht kommen, sollen durch entsprechende Aufklärung befähigt werden, selber ihre weitere Therapie zu bestimmen. Die Information selbst muss objektiv, klar strukturiert und im multidisziplinären Team erfolgen. Durch objektive Information lässt sich der Anteil der Patienten, die sich für die Peritonealdialyse entscheiden, deutlich vergrößern. Als wichtiges Ziel sollte in Zukunft allen Patienten eine Prädialyseinformation und -vorbereitung angeboten werden.
