Prävalenz des Charles Bonnet Syndroms – eine Übersicht der Literatur

Zusammenfassung

Das Charles Bonnet Syndrom (CBS) wird definiert als das Auftreten von visuellen Halluzinationen (VH) ohne psychopathologische Erkrankungen. Von dieser Erkrankung sind hauptsächlich ältere Patientinnen und Patienten betroffen, die aufgrund ihres geringen Visus bedingt durch ophthalmologische Pathologien (meist durch die altersbedingte Makuladegneration – AMD) VH erleiden. Zur Prävalenz des CBS im europäischen Raum können viele unterschiedliche Ergebnisse gefunden werden. Mehr über diese Erkrankung zu lernen ist essentiell, um gegebenenfalls die Symptome zu erkennen, richtig zu deuten und betroffenen Patienten adäquate Information und Therapie zu kommen zu lassen. Genaue und einheitliche diagnostische Kriterien für ein CBS sind die Grundlage weiterer Studien.
