Zusammenfassung

Anliegen

Überblick über den aktuellen Kenntnisstand zur sozialen Kognition bei PatientInnen mit bipolarer affektiver Störung.

Methode

Selektive Literaturübersicht zu krankheitsassoziierten Defiziten, Vorkommen und Auswirkungen.

Ergebnisse

Analog zu PatientInnen mit unipolarer Depression weisen auch jene mit bipolarer affektiver Störung sowohl in Phasen der Erkrankung als auch in Remission Defizite im Bereich der sozialen Kognition auf, welche den psychosozialen Outcome negativ beeinflussen.

Schlussfolgerungen

Eine umfassende psychische Stabilisierung von PatientInnen mit bipolarer affektiver Störung erfordert einen integrativen Behandlungsansatz mit Berücksichtigung sozial-kognitiver Defizite.
