Medizinische Aspekte gängiger nicht-letaler Wirkmittel

Zusammenfassung

Durch die Bereitstellung und Weiterentwicklung nicht-letaler Wirkmittel (NLW) wird bei polizeilichen und militärischen Einsätzen ein, der jeweiligen Situation angepasstes, stufenweises Eingreifen mit dem Ziel der Deeskalation ermöglicht. Die zur Eindämmung von Ausschreitungen ziviler Menschenansammlungen eingesetzten chemischen, kinetischen und elektrischen Waffensysteme können bei fehlerhafter Anwendung potentiell tödliche Verletzungen hervorrufen, die nicht nur von klinischer, sondern auch von juristischer Relevanz sind. Der praktizierende Arzt wird hierbei vor die Behandlungs- und Beurteilungsproblematik neuer Verletzungsformen gestellt. Um eine adäquate ärztliche Versorgung gewährleisten zu können und um bei gutachterlichen Nachfragen bezüglich der Verletzungsentstehung kompetente Rückschlüsse ziehen zu können, ist eine detaillierte Kenntnis über die Wirkungsweisen dieser NLW essentiell. Die vorliegende Übersichtsarbeit stellt die derzeit gängigsten NLW dar und gibt einen Überblick über mögliche Verletzungsbilder und deren Behandlungsmöglichkeiten.
