Amblyopietherapie – Empfehlungen des Consilium Strabologicum Austriacum in Zusammenarbeit mit Orthoptik Austria

Zusammenfassung

Die Amblyopie, als entwicklungsbedingtes Defizit des Formensehens, insbesondere der Sehschärfe, erfordert ein frühzeitiges Erkennen und eine Behandlung in der sensitiven Phase der Sehentwicklung. Obwohl seit der ersten Erwähnung der Amblyopie über 200 Jahre vergangen sind, ist die Diskussion um deren Behandlung aktueller denn je.
Im Jahre 2009 wurden durch die Zusammenarbeit des Consilium Strabologicum Austriacum mit Orthoptik Austria österreichweit geltende Therapieempfehlungen zur Behandlung der Amblyopie erarbeitet. Sie stellen Empfehlungen im Sinne von preferred practice pattern und keine Richtlinien für die Amblyopietherapie dar, sodass bei ausreichender Erfahrung eine individuelle Therapieanpassung möglich ist.
Die rechtzeitige Erfassung von Risikofaktoren, eine entsprechende Früherkennung und/oder Prophylaxe sowie die Frühbehandlung einer Amblyopie stellen somit das oberste Gebot dar.
